Actor Michael Rainey Jr., best known for his role as Tariq in PowerBook II: Ghost, has partnered with The Recovery Education Foundation (The R.A.R.E. Foundation) powered by Equifax to lead the “Educate a Student. Protect Yourself” initiative. His mission? To empower New York City high school students with the financial education and identity protection tools they need to secure their future. Michael understands firsthand the importance of financial literacy, and now, he’s using his platform to give back to his hometown of Staten Island and beyond.

Michael Rainey Jr.’s Commitment to Financial Education to Schools in New York City

The R.A.R.E. Foundation aims to sponsor up to 250,000 students through this initiative. With a minimum donation of $25, both the donor (Protect Yourself) and the student (Educate a Student) will receive a comprehensive financial literacy package that includes:

• One year of Equifax Complete Premier, offering comprehensive credit monitoring and identity theft protection.

• "The Power of Credit" e-book, teaching students the fundamentals of building a strong financial foundation.

• "Who Stole My Identity?" e-book, written by 17-year-old financial literacy advocate Preston "Kid Kredit" Luzunaris, which educates students on how to protect themselves from identity theft.

• A 12-Course Digital Financial Literacy Curriculum designed to equip students with critical financial skills.

• A FREE Credit Consultation, available remotely or at the Credit Education Center in the Bronx New York.
